About Liz

Liz Bio

Liz Bunting, Child PsychotherapistI am Liz Bunting, UKCP Accredited Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist*, MBACP** and an EAGALA ***Certified Practitioner. I have over 12 years experience specialising in helping many teenagers who are struggling with stress, depression, extreme anxiety, low mood, low self esteem, low confidence, feeling angry or numb or lost and vulnerable, feeling like there is nowhere to turn.

My therapeutic approach is Integrative which means I draw from different theories and select the most useful and relevant to suit each individual’s personal need and preferred way of working. This often begins by developing a therapeutic relationship to understand and work through some of the issues; it will also include interventions using metaphor – depending on the goals and interests of each individual client this may involve using sandtray, clay sculpting and/or working with one or two canines (AAP).

Volunteering for ChildLine/NSPCC for three years as a telephone counsellor was the beginning of my journey. Since then I have provided therapy in Primary and Secondary/High schools throughout Greater Manchester, with Place 2 Be in Moss Side using play therapy with children between the ages of 4-11, as part of a Primary Mental Health Team with the NHS and with Beacon Counselling, a charity based in Bramhall, Stockport working with adults and young people between the ages of 11-19.

I established my private practice Kaleidoscope Psychotherapy in 2012. I hold an Enhanced DBS/CRB clearance confirming my suitability to work with vulnerable adults, children and young people. I am recognised with Health Care Insurance Providers including Aviva and WPA etc I hold Professional Liability/Indemnity Insurance.
